We are excited to announce Support Staff is joining the Giving Tuesday 2021 fundraising efforts!
We are looking to our community, near and far, to join our fundraising efforts by helping us raise money for Support Staff programming and community aid, participating in our donation drives for People Over Profit, spreading the word about our campaign, or volunteering with us!
#GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into an international movement that unleashes the power of radical generosity around the world; the concept that the suffering of others should be as intolerable as our own. Giving Tuesday is a call of action for everyone to help however they can; whether that be time, gratitude, or support. Last year, Support Staff joined the Giving Tuesday campaign through efforts to raise funds for our #CompTab Relief Fund. Thanks to community support, grants and donations, we successfully raised and distributed $75,000 through Comp Tab Relief Fund to hospitality professionals impacted by bar and restaurant closures!
We have expanded our fundraising efforts by repurposing Comp Tab Relief Fund, and introducing two new ways to support!
Donate Monetarily and Expand #CompTabReliefFund. This year, for our #CompTab campaign, we’re raising funds to subsidize the costs for hospitality professionals seeking professional mental health resources or support. Full or reliable health benefits are not commonly made available to hospitality professionals, especially with regards to mental health.
Donate monthly, or make a one time donation, to help relieve the financial burden on hospitality professionals seeking mental health services and resources!
Want to Volunteer? We are also looking to expand our store hours, and are looking for volunteers to help with donation intake, organization, and distribution. If you’re interested, email us with your name and availability at info@pleasehustleresponsibly.com

Give your Support to People Over Profit. People Over Profit is a community center and free store located on 2712 W Division, in Chicago’s Humboldt Park Neighborhood. Open 4 days a week, visitors are welcomed to shop for childrens, mens, and womens clothing, hygiene and feminine products, books, dog food/accessories. Thanks to our partners, The Love Fridge, visitors are also welcomed to pre-made meals, produce, and pantry items from our fridge located outside the store.
Get Involved! P/$ relies on the generosity of our community and individual donations to sustain the ongoing effort to provide free resources, and support to those in need. Stop by POP during open hours to donate clothing, hygiene products, cleaning and pet supplies, and perishable, and non perishable food items for our Love Fridge and Pantry.
If you can’t make it to the store, we’ll also have #GivingBoxes located at various bars, restaurants, and storefronts throughout the city accepting clothing and non perishable food item donations. More information coming soon!
